What to expect after you call

Fast Action. Clear Communication. One Trusted Team.

We built On The Way Plumbing to bring the same trusted service, customer-first values, and 24/7 responsiveness to plumbing that we’ve delivered in restoration since 2008.

Our top priority is protecting your home and stopping further damage. Here’s how our emergency plumbing process works:

Step 1: Assess & Dispatch

Right team, right response

Every call begins with our 24/7 dispatch team evaluating your emergency. Depending on the issue, we may send an emergency plumber immediately to handle urgent repairs, or a restoration technician first to stabilize the site and shut off water, with a plumber arriving shortly after.

No matter the time of day, we ensure the right personnel are deployed quickly—based on the specific conditions you’re facing.

Step 2: Inspection & Estimating

Helping you understand the damage—and your options

Once the immediate emergency is stabilized, our IICRC-certified team will evaluate any visible water damage related to the plumbing issue. We’ll walk through what we find, answer your questions, and provide a clear, itemized estimate for next steps—whether that means drying, material removal, or full mitigation.

While plumbing failures themselves are rarely covered by insurance—unless caused by something like a frozen pipe—the resulting water damage often is. Whether you choose to file a claim or self-pay, we’ll give you honest, informed guidance so you can make the decision that’s best for your home, your policy, and your peace of mind.

Every project is different, and so is every customer. Our role is to guide—not pressure—and to do the work the right way, every time.

Step 3: Stabilize & Plan

Securing the site & setting the stage

If the emergency caused water damage, our restoration team steps in to stabilize the site. For homes built before 2013, asbestos or lead testing may be required before any affected materials can be removed. While testing is pending, we take proactive steps to prevent further damage—such as setting containment barriers and deploying advanced drying equipment to protect the space.

Step 4: Mitigation & Insurance Support (as needed)

Staying By Your Side the Whole Way

If your plumbing emergency resulted in water damage, we can help determine whether an insurance claim is appropriate and, if so, guide you through the process—communicating with your adjuster and handling the necessary documentation.

And because our plumbing and mitigation teams work together seamlessly, the transition is simple. As an added benefit, up to $500 from your plumbing invoice is credited toward your mitigation project when you continue with Oregon Restoration.

From drying and containment to material removal, everything is handled with care, urgency, and transparency—so you can move forward with confidence.

Step 5: Final Walkthrough & Completion

Making sure everything meets our standards—and yours

Once mitigation is complete, your Project Manager will walk you through the finished work to ensure everything was completed to your satisfaction. We’ll answer any final questions, explain what was done, and confirm that your property is safe, dry, and ready for what’s next—whether that’s reconstruction with us or a contractor of your choice.
