By the time moisture reaches insulation, subflooring, and wall cavities, drying it correctly takes equipment and verification a shop vac and a fan can’t provide. Dried wrong, it comes back as warped floors, failing drywall, and mold within 24 to 48 hours.
Oregon Restoration treats water damage as a building science problem. We find the source, map where the moisture actually traveled, dry what can be saved, remove what can’t, and document all of it for the claim.
A room can look and feel dry while framing, subflooring, insulation, and wall cavities still hold moisture. Household fans and a shop vac pull surface water, but they can’t move enough air or pull enough humidity to dry materials all the way through, and they can’t do it fast enough to beat mold, which starts in 24 to 48 hours. We use commercial equipment and monitored drying logs to dry the structure to standard and confirm it got there, not just that it feels dry to the touch.

Even clean water doesn’t stay clean for long. A burst supply line starts out safe, but once it soaks through drywall, flooring, and insulation, or sits more than a day or two, it crosses into contaminated water that has to be cleaned, contained, or removed, not just dried.
