At Oregon Restoration, over 17 years we’ve seen just about every kind of water damage restoration project you can imagine—from burst pipes that flood a home in minutes to slow leaks that go undetected for months. But no matter the cause, one thing became clear: in many of the jobs we responded to, the customer had already been through one or more plumbing calls before we ever showed up.
A Pattern Emerges
Sometimes the leak was fixed, but the damage had spread. Other times, the plumber couldn’t do anything until demo started—or told them to call someone else entirely. By the time we arrived, the homeowner was frustrated, unsure who was supposed to do what, and losing valuable time as water continued to cause damage behind walls, under flooring, or in crawlspaces.
It was a systemic problem: plumbers and restoration companies weren’t coordinating—and homeowners and property managers were the ones stuck in the middle.
The timeline often looked like this:
- A plumbing issue occurs—leak, burst pipe, failed water heater.
- The homeowner scrambles to find a plumber.
- The plumber fixes the issue, then recommends calling a restoration company.
- The clock keeps ticking. Water keeps spreading.
- The homeowner calls us, often hours or days later.
By the time we’re on-site, there’s typically more damage than there needed to be. Drywall that could’ve been dried now needs to be removed. Flooring has started to warp. In some cases, the problem that caused the leak wasn’t fully resolved, and mitigation has to pause until a second plumber comes out.
Even with great plumbers involved, the lack of coordination between trades added hours, sometimes days, to jobs that needed fast, aligned action.
So We Fixed the Problem—At the Source
This led us to a simple question: What if they worked together from the beginning?
That question led to the creation of On The Way Plumbing—a plumbing company purpose-built to operate alongside our restoration teams. Same values. Same systems. Same commitment to fast, efficient service when time matters most.
By aligning plumbing and restoration under one roof, we give our customers something most emergency service workflows lack—with one call, help is on the way.
What On The Way Plumbing Offers
When we launched On The Way Plumbing back in February, we weren’t necessarily looking to become a full-service plumbing company—we set out to fix the disconnect we kept seeing in emergency response. That meant building a plumbing team that could work in lockstep with restoration, without the delays, guesswork, or handoff gaps that too often leave homeowners stuck.
When we joined forces with licensed journeyman plumber Mike Barrow earlier this year, it shifted how we thought about serving our clients. We weren’t just responding to damage anymore—we were in a position to help prevent it.
Mike brought a practical understanding of how and where plumbing systems fail, and how quickly that failure can escalate into a restoration job. With his leadership, On The Way Plumbing covers the full spectrum: from preventing water damage before it starts, to fixing the plumbing issues that cause it, to coordinating directly with our restoration team when things go wrong.
Today, On The Way Plumbing offers:
- Emergency Plumbing Repairs: Immediate response for burst pipes, active leaks, and critical shutoffs.
- Leak Detection: Moisture mapping and diagnostic tools to locate hidden water damage before it spreads.
- Water Heater Services: Repair and replacement for both tank and tankless systems.
- Kitchen & Bath Fixture Repair & Installation: Professional installation and repair of faucets, sinks, toilets, garbage disposals, and other key fixtures.
- Whole-House Repiping: For aging or failing systems where quick fixes are no longer enough.
- Water Extraction: Coordinated removal and drying in partnership with Oregon Restoration.
- Commercial Plumbing Services: Tailored support for property managers, HOAs, and facility managers who need fast, reliable help.
The Bonus: Our Customers Save More Than Time
